Terms of Service

Welcome to Podora. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Podora mobile application, website, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by Star48 (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By downloading, installing, creating an account, or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

You represent that you are at least 13 years of age, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to consent to these Terms. If you are under the age of 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Podora is an AI-powered application that generates concise podcast-style audio summaries from YouTube videos. The Service allows users to:

• Paste a YouTube video URL into the application to initiate a summary.
• Choose a text-to-speech (TTS) voice for the audio output, including male and female voice options.
• Receive a generated audio summary of the video's content that can be listened to on the go.

The summaries are generated using artificial intelligence and natural language processing technologies. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated summaries may not perfectly capture every nuance or detail of the original video content. Summaries are intended to provide a convenient overview and should not be considered a substitute for viewing the original content.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

To use the Service, you must create an account by signing in through one of our supported authentication providers: Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. Account authentication is managed through Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google.

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information as prompted by the authentication process. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including your Google or Apple account passwords. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorised that activity. Star48 will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised use of your account.

You may only maintain one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent credit limits, abuse promotions, or otherwise violate these Terms is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

Podora operates on a subscription-based system. By subscribing, you receive credits that are consumed each time you generate a podcast summary. The number of credits required for a summary may vary depending on the length and complexity of the source video.

Before a summary is created, the estimated credit cost will be clearly displayed to you. By confirming the summary creation, you agree to the deduction of the stated number of credits from your account balance.

Subscriptions are managed through in-app purchases via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The pricing, credit allotment, and renewal terms of subscription plans are subject to change at our discretion. Subscription renewals and cancellations are governed by the policies of the applicable app store.

Credits are non-refundable once used. Once credits have been consumed to generate a summary, they cannot be restored or refunded, regardless of your satisfaction with the output. Refunds for subscription payments may be available in accordance with the refund policies of the applicable app store.

Star48 reserves the right to modify the credit costs associated with summary generation, adjust subscription pricing, or alter the credit system at any time.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Abuse, exploit, or misuse the Service in any way.
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or other software to access the Service without our prior written consent.
• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, publicly display, or commercially exploit summaries generated by the Service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service.
• Use the Service to generate summaries of content that you do not have the right to access.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security-related features of the Service.
• Create multiple accounts, share account credentials, or transfer your account without our consent.
• Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service.

Violation of these acceptable use provisions may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

Summaries for personal use only. Audio summaries generated through the Service are provided exclusively for your personal, non-commercial use.

Original content ownership. The original YouTube videos and their content remain the intellectual property of their respective creators and rights holders.

Star48's intellectual property. The Service, including the Podora application, its design, user interface, underlying technology, algorithms, branding, logos, trademarks, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Star48 and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The Service integrates with and relies upon certain third-party services including YouTube API Services, Text-to-Speech providers, and Firebase by Google.

Star48 is not responsible for the practices, policies, or availability of these third-party services.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

Star48 does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STAR48 BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL STAR48'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO STAR48 IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at contact@podora-app.com.

Star48 reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, at any time and without prior notice or liability.

Star48 reserves the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.

Your continued use of the Service after the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
